Ham-Stuffed Apples,The apple takes the place of individual serving dishes when stuffed with a nice ham mixture. Great for a small dinner party. Taken from the “From Storebought to Homemade” cookbook.,This was surprisingly very good! I found that the ham and the apples really complemented each other. The only reason it gets four stars is for me it felt kind of an odd choice for a meal–it was so much like dessert! I ended up with extra stuffing and found that mixing it with hot rice makes a tasty breakfast :),This was a very flavorful and delicious meal. I’m only giving it 4 stars because the prep was a little time consuming, what with scooping out the apples. used Ambrosia apples, they have a very sweet, honey-like flavor and worked well the the other flavors in the dish. I also toasted the pecans slightly, and that I think allowed them to hold their own against all the other flavors. All in all, a very tasty meal…goes great with a spinach salad.
