    Steak & Shake Chili, Steak and Shake was a franchise started in the Midwest. My father would take me there on special occasions. I loved their chili! This is a chili which would be ideal for children. It is very mild with a slight sweetness. I found this recipe on the internet @ I dunno4recipes. The recipe origionally called for 2 15 ounce cans of kidney beans drained, but I prefer the taste of chili beans better, I really like this chili. I have been using this recipe for years and my kids love it too! It tastes similar to Steak & Shakes chili! Thanks for the recipe., Love Steak and Shake chili, but I think this recipe misses the mark considerably. Onion soup, crock pot, cola — get serious. Personally I think the “key” may be in the specific cumin they use. There are hundreds of different types of cumin from many areas of the world. My question is what cumin do they use? I was born 15 miles from their original restaurant in Normal, IL, and I been eating their chili for way too many years to admit. I think it’s the best chili made, and I sure wish I could replicate it.

    Brown Ground Beef and Salt in Oil-If There Is a High Fat Content to the Ground Beef You Can Omit the Oil.

    Put Soup in Blender, Blend For 1 Minute.

    Add All to Crock Pot.

    Drain Beef Before Adding to Pot.

    Let Simmer on Low For 6 Hours or on High For 2 Hours.
