Hot Sin Apple Bread,I found this recipe on another web site while looking for a recipe to use up some apples my neighbor had given me. It looked like it would be alot like banana bread, which my family loves so I gave it a try. OMG this puts banana bread to shame. We all love it. And while it’s cooking, the house smells divine! I won’t be able to make it often, I keep going back for more.,I knocked a star off because this recipe is poorly written (a pet peeve of mine!). Im a seasoned home cook, but still had to guess at a lot of things. Are the apples peeled? (I didnt peel mine and it turned out fine.) What do you do with the topping ingredients when the butter is cold? Is the butter cut into small pieces? Grated? Or manhandled until its soft enough to mix with the other ingredients? (I grated my butter.). How many apples make up four cups? (Approximately 4 medium/large apples.). In the end, its a delicious quick bread.,I have made this loaf many times now, including following the recipe as is, and changing it up a bit. This has always been a hit and is a fantastic way to use up apples from our trees. Alterations include both grated apples as well as chopped up apples ( two cups of grated & 1.5 of chopped – or whatever my apples give me). I also add some baking powder to the flour with a little more cinnamon and freshly grated nutmeg. This will always be the standby apple recipe for me.
