Indian Bannock, remember Mom making a big batch of bannock, quite often when we were kids, and I loved to take it to school in my lunch, in place of a sandwich, and all the kids thought I was weird, but to this day I love bannock.,This is the best recipe online for real true bannock.
Finally, a real bannock recipe! No sugar. No raisins. Just bannock. True and traditional. I’d LOVE to take a picture, but I can’t manage to do it before I eat it all. I’ve been living in MX for a year and…I need my fix from time to time. Don’t be afraid to cook it in a pan, on the stove-top on medium (or low…you know your range). Best in a cast iron pan but I’ve done it twice in a teflon. Not the same as on hot rocks on the beach in BC…but you do what you can. Myself, I’d avoid deep-frying it…seems to be more a “modern” thing. I wouldn’t..but man oh man…it’s delicious deep-fried, too (only had it once like that). Just not that good for you. K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple, Stupid! This is the best recipe online for real true bannock.,Outstanding? Rolled it thin, fried it and topped it with freshly made strawberry jam! Thanks for the recipe.
