Directions
Make Ahead Caramel Toast, Another recipe found on a B&B site It is so easy, and darn yummy! Makes the whole house smell wonderful in the morning Serving size really depends on how thick you slice the bread , The whole family loved it My boys called it a 10 out of 10 I followed the recipe except I left the crust on and I turned the bread half way through the cooking time Also, before I baked it, I poured out the extra liquid on the bottom of the pan and drizzled it over the top of the bread , We really loved this today for breakfast I didn’t love having to get up earlier than normal to make it, but unlike some others, you don’t have to let it come to room temp before you bake it, which was nice used a from scratch French bread slice between and inch to an inch and a half thick I LOVE the caramel sauce baked into this You’d swear it was made with sweetened condensed milk or cream rather than a skim milk egg custard I might gild the lily a bit with some pecans next time, but it’s not necessary This took about 40 minutes in my Airbake pan, and I turned once (carefully) halfway thru
