Merry Tomatoes, I got this recipe from a Charleston Junior League cookbook This is always a hit on the buffet at my Christmas party Think of this appetizer as a very fresh bloody mary (Cook time is time allowed for marination ), These are one of my standards They are a hit wherever they go; and are a nice light appetizer in the summer months use grape tomatoes and more vodka The biggest problem I have is keeping the kids away!, I had high hopes for these, based on the reviews, so I made them for a Christmas Eve brunch Maybe I didn’t pierce the tomatoes deeply enough, but I felt as though they hadn’t soaked up any of the vodka, even though I had marinated them overnight They didn’t taste bad, but they didn’t get rave reviews either – mostly people said that it was an interesting idea I might try these again, but I’ll be bringing a second dish just in case
