Mexican Bunuelos, My mom used to make these every year with her Spanish class students We LOVE them! Kind of a mexican version of elephant ears, but different VERY addicting! This makes a lot, so you may want to cut the recipe in half , To everyone who thinks they messed up THIS PIC IS EXTREMELY MISLEADING I noticed on some posts here that some of you may have not flattened your balls Buuelos are fried flat discs of dough There is a direction in this recipe that is easy to miss YOU MUST FLATTEN THE BALLS BEFORE FRYING Look at other buuelo recipes online or do an image search and you’ll see what I mean, We made them in a flatter 16 inch circle Added brushed butter before sugar mixture Dip in syrup Wow
