Mimis Cafe Whiskey Sauce

Features:
    Cuisine:

This whiskey sauce is to die for when prepared properly... be really careful not to overcook as it curdles when taken too far. Mimi's uses Jack Daniels in their version which gives it a slightly banana flavor (YUM!) Be careful of using too strong a whiskey (like Jamesons) as you won't be able to get rid of the strong Whiskey flavor by the time the eggs are done setting. :)

Mimi’s Cafe Whiskey Sauce, Serve with Mimi’s Cafe Bread Pudding , This whiskey sauce is to die for when prepared properly be really careful not to overcook as it curdles when taken too far Mimi’s uses Jack Daniels in their version which gives it a slightly banana flavor (YUM!) Be careful of using too strong a whiskey (like Jamesons) as you won’t be able to get rid of the strong Whiskey flavor by the time the eggs are done setting :), OMG I think I just hurt myself eating this by the spooful I baked two 9 inch pans of bread pudding and this was just enough to top both The flavor is outstanding with just a hint of bourbon, that doesn’t overpower the sauce I cooked it slowly and it was a very easy recipe to follow I can’t imagine ever using another recipe for Whiskey Sauce after tasting this one
