Mock Chicken Fried Steak With Milk Gravy, My mother made these for us four girls. Money was tight and she couldn’t afford steak very often. These use ground beef. use a 80/20 lean to fat. You can use ground round but it tends to be a little too dry. This is great with mashed potatoes. Everyone I have ever made it for loved it. The first time my DH had it he never knew it was ground beef. He just commented on the tenderness of the steak!, Oh… Oh…. Mmmmmm… Holy Cow…. Yummmm!!!! YESSSS!!!!!!!!! Ahhhh…… Did I mention I really enjoyed this? For those that had trouble keeping the patties together, try making smaller patties and sticking them in the freezer both before and after dredging. Make all the difference, So good. I made this last night with mashed potatoes and cheezy green beans. My family loved it. I did have a bit of trouble keeping the meat together while trying to flour and egg it, but I just took the pieces that fell off and we had little nuggets too! thank you for sharing with us, we loved them.
