Moist and Zesty Homemade Applesauce Cake Recipe

Features:
    Cuisine:

Made as written (except I tossed in a handful of raisins -- they were great in it). Was happy with how easy it was to put together, no bowl to wash! But I was not happy with the amount of allspice. I'd never in over 50 years of cooking seen a recipe call for so much allspice and I almost didn't put it all in but thought it fair to first do as the recipe said. Sorry, I didn't like all that much allspice in the cake. It seemed bitter to me. Yes, the ice cream did help to smooth it out but I won't be making this again.
