Muhammara (Spicy Walnut, Red Pepper Dip), A fabulously tasty party dip with walnuts, onions, chili and red pepper , I don’t know what ‘dip’ means other than it goes on the plate like mayonnaise/salad cream or houmous It’s a ‘spread’ in the Levant as it is in the UK or put directly on the plate with or without other foods, like in most Middle Eastern countries If eating with hands in those countries, these spreads are ‘wiped’ off the plate with bread, like curry sauces, but use a knife & fork Like Houmous, it’s used a lot in sandwiches by vegetarians/vegans This particular spread lives up to the fabulously tasty description & has a pleasant crunch that went well with my salad, it’s so nice I am going to make more later, only had enough walnuts to make this (Hand chop walnuts otherwise you end up with ‘flour’) , A fabulously tasty party dip with walnuts, onions, chili and red pepper
