1/8 teaspoon saffron thread
salt & pepper, to taste
3/4 cup instant couscous, uncooked

    Easy recipe, and was tasty, but unlike a previous reviewer, I thought it needed more cumin :) and perhaps a bit of "heat", i.e. some cayenne or chili paste. But the basic recipe is good and lends itself to additions. I subbed chicken broth for the beef broth.

    Heat Oil Over Medium Heat Then Add Mushrooms, Onion, & Garlic, Saute Till Tender.

    Pour in the Broth & Spices the Simmer For 3 Minutes. Remove from the Heat & Stir in the Couscous.

    Let Stand, Covered, For 10 Minutes Then Fluff With a Fork. Serve Alone or as a Side Dish.
