Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies,,I appreciate you taking out your time trying to create a copycat Great Harvest Cookie recipe. I actually worked at one for 5 years as head baker and I loved our cookies. After doing some researching it was nice to see how many people enjoy Great Harvest. So I followed the recipe exactly to give it shot and just have a few notes. – Salt, Baking powder and baking soda should be all equate parts. – Less sugar. The recipe was close but a bit too much – There is no milk or molasses added. – Do not process the rolled oats, add the total amount along with the step below. – After you cream the butter and sugar, add all the dry ingredients along with the eggs and vanilla. Mix for two minutes on medium speed, then add chocolate chips. Lastly, mix the chocolate chips on low speed for 1 minute. – If the dough is too dry add water for adjustment. The dry:wet ingredient ratio was perfect by the way! I was very impressed this recipe and I hope my suggestions will help you have Great Harvest cookies year-round! Let me know if you needed anymore Great Harvest insight. -James,Fabulous! Definitely a five star recipe. Hearty oats and flour give these guys a great chew while still retaining that classic “cookie” flavor (must be all that butter!) Next time I may add a bit more chocolate chips to satisfy my addiction. Also might slightly reduce salt because I tend to use salted butter.
