Old Fashioned Corn and Potato Chowder, This really is old fashioned! It comes from The Culinary Arts Institute Encyclopedia of Cooking and Homemaking which was published in 1940 This wonderful book has been passed down through 4 generations of women in my family Proof that some of the best stuff is the oldest and simplest , I added 1/4 cup of diced celery, 1/4 cup diced carrots, more salt and pepper, 1/2 cup more water to help cook celery and carrots a pinch of Cheyenne pepper and added a little shredded extra sharp cheddar while cooking tastes great, While I appreciated the simplicity of the recipe, I found it way too bland and watery I adjusted by adding more salt, pepper and incorporated dill
