Panda Express Orange Chicken,A copycat recipe from Panda Express. This chicken is tangy and flavorful. Give it a try! I’m sure you and your family will enjoy it.,Hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed this recipe. used half the chicken so halved the flour/cornstarch combo. I pre stir-fried my usual veggies of choice: carrots, celery, bell pepper, onion, broccoli and then proceeded with the recipe. I like to serve with an eggroll or some potstickers. We have leftovers for one of us tomorrow. Will definitely keep this one in the rotation!,In the end, this recipe is very tasty indeed, but it has a couple of serious problems. First, if followed precisely, the batter recipe results in something more akin to a pizza dough ball, not a batter. It needs substantially more water to produce a batter thin enough to properly coat the chicken without clumping it together like glue. I agree with the comment that less flour and cornstarch would be fine. The other problem is that the chicken should be fried in two batches as almost all other recipes suggest, or it will take twice as long to get any browning at all. Every cook knows by now that you cant crowd the pan and expect browning. My only other tweak was to toast some sesame seeds in a pan and add them at the end, which looks great and adds a bit of extra flavor. I will do this again and it will be much better!
