Pear Honey,This is so simple and so good. Update: I have changed the sugar ingredient amount from 5 1/2 cups to 2 1/2 cups-5 cups because it is so sweet, you don’t need all the amount. Enjoy!,I don’t have a scale. When you say 3 lb of pears, how many cups of peeled pear would that be, approximately?,I recently moved into a house with a huge pear tree. I have no idea what variety it is, but I do know they’re cooking pears. This recipe was very nostalgic to me, as my mother, who has been deceased since 1979, made it. Thank you for bringing back some sweet memories by sharing this wonderful recipe! I haven’t had it in almost 40 years and have always loved it. used 3 cups of sugar, which was really sweet, but still delicious! Next time, I’ll use 1 1/2 cups, which should be perfect to my personal taste. God bless! 🙂
