Ultimate Pizza Sauce, This pizza sauce recipe was given to me as a wedding present, written on the inside cover of a pizza cookbook. It is thick, saucy, spicy and delicious. I’ll never use anything else on my homemade pizzas. I like to double or triple it and put it in Ziploc bags in my freezer., I love this sauce. Its chunky, though. I like my pizza sauce to be smooth. I made it tonight. I followed the recipe, except I pured it in the pan with a stick blender before I added the fennel seed. My family loved it that way. The flavor is great whether you pure it or not., This sauce is very good. We didn’t have fennel seeds so I substitute with star anise.

In a Large Skillet, Melt Butter With the Oil. Add the Onion, Celery and Garlic and Saute Until Soft and Transparent. |
