Pickled Bologna

    My 88-yeqr-old father and I love pickled (especially sweet-sour) foods, so this is a great choice! I love the balance of vinegar, water, sugar, and pickling spice. Although I like bologna I LOVE wieners (use inexpensive ones and cut them into thirds or fourths). I also add some red-pepper flakes for a little more heat. I always use two thinly sliced sweet onions, which make a delicious condiment for sandwiches or appetizers. This may sound odd, but I grilled a piece of pickled wiener and thought that I would order a grilled pickled wiener if I could find a restaurant that serves them!

    Mix Together First 6 Ingredients and Boil For 8 Minutes; Cool. Put Bologna and Onions in Large Glass Jar. Pour Vinegar Mixture Over Bologna. Refrigerate Overnight Before Serving. Store in Refrigerator.
