Queen Ann Holiday Brunch Cake Bread

Features:
    Cuisine:

I was a little worried at times, but in the end, this turned out very well. used my bread machine on the dough cycle, then removed the dough, shaped it into buns, let them rise and baked them. When I took the dough out of the bread machine, it seemed, well, I can't think of a nice way to put it, but, greasy. There is quite a lot of butter in this bread compared to the amount of flour. The temperature in my kitchen also was a little cool today, so it took the buns longer than I expected to rise. The baked buns, however, are very nice, light, fluffy and certainly not greasy. I haven't bothered with the glaze. I think the buns are delicious without. Thank you very much for sharing this recipe with us. (For the candied fruit, used candied cherries, angelica and orange peel. I was toying with the idea of using dried fruit, but didn't this time.)
