Quick Beef Casserole, A quick Hamburger Helper type of recipe that is easy, fast to do and delicious , I’m not giving stars because I made too many changes to rate the original recipe fairly I had some ground turkey and wanted an easy casserole for lunch I was not disapppointed I cut the recipe in half (for the most part), using ground turkey instead of ground beef used onion powder and some pampered chef italian seasoning with the meat instead of the fresh ingredients used a pint jar of my home canned spaghetti sauce instead of the plain tomato sauce, so I omitted the herbs, salt, and sugar I added some salt and pampered chef italian seasoning to the sour cream mixture, as it didn’t seem like it would taste very interesting with only the green onions I was out of egg noodles, so used some whole wheat penne I baked it in an 8 by 8 glass pan It turned out very good We did use at least 1/2 cup of cheese, even with cutting the recipe in half My girls, even the one who doesn’t normally eat anything tomatoey, ate this without a problem One even asked for seconds If I make it with penne again, I think I’ll toss the hot pasta with the sour cream mixture rather than layering in the pan The pasta that ended up filled with the creamy mixture was delicious! I’ll also use fresh garlic in the first step I’ll stick to the onion powder, though, so I can have onion flavor without the kids whining or trying to pick out onions! 15 ounces of tomato sauce for the full recipe seems a little short, as used that much for the half recipe, and it seemed just right Thanks for a great lunch!, I’m not giving stars because I made too many changes to rate the original recipe fairly I had some ground turkey and wanted an easy casserole for lunch I was not disapppointed I cut the recipe in half (for the most part), using ground turkey instead of ground beef used onion powder and some pampered chef italian seasoning with the meat instead of the fresh ingredients used a pint jar of my home canned spaghetti sauce instead of the plain tomato sauce, so I omitted the herbs, salt, and sugar I added some salt and pampered chef italian seasoning to the sour cream mixture, as it didn’t seem like it would taste very interesting with only the green onions I was out of egg noodles, so used some whole wheat penne I baked it in an 8 by 8 glass pan It turned out very good We did use at least 1/2 cup of cheese, even with cutting the recipe in half My girls, even the one who doesn’t normally eat anything tomatoey, ate this without a problem One even asked for seconds If I make it with penne again, I think I’ll toss the hot pasta with the sour cream mixture rather than layering in the pan The pasta that ended up filled with the creamy mixture was delicious!
