Rich And Chewy Low Fat Brownies

Features:
    Cuisine:

I've made these brownies several times and my daughter says they are her favorite! I always frost them, which probably isn't as healthy as the recipe. But one thing I wanted to add is this last time I made them, I only had 1-1/4 cup of sugar. I always felt that 1-3/4 cup seemed like a lot. The sweetness was just fine with less sugar.

Rich and Chewy Low Fat Brownies,Amazingly rich and chewy, you would never know these are low fat. I have people asking me for this recipe whenever I make it. The applesauce is the secret ingredient in these delicious brownies! One suggestion I have to make them fudgier is to use a very high quality cocoa. I usually use Watkins or Epicure Selections and found a big difference from that and the kind you can buy in the store. It makes them a real dark chocolate in the middle and they are rich and chewy! This recipe also doubles well and will fit into a 9×13 pan.,I’ve made these brownies several times and my daughter says they are her favorite! I always frost them, which probably isn’t as healthy as the recipe. But one thing I wanted to add is this last time I made them, I only had 1-1/4 cup of sugar. I always felt that 1-3/4 cup seemed like a lot. The sweetness was just fine with less sugar.,When everyone in the house loves these besides the person who is always on a diet (ehemm), you know they’re good! I too made the same adjustments by cutting down the sugar to 1 1/2 cups and adding some chocolate chips which I think is a must and makes it taste more like an actual brownie. It has a very moist texture like most brownies with a slight cake-like consistency. To make it easier to grab quickly, I bake them in a cupcake pan and they come out perfect. This way you can get an exact calorie count as well if need be. I gave it 4 stars because I think the recipe should call for chocolate chips and doesn’t add that much more fat to the recipe. Who doesn’t love a smidge more chocolate?!!!!
