Savory Steamed Yellow Squash and Sweet Vidalia Onions Recipe

For more years than I can count, I've made this but cooked the squash in the pan with the onion. It is at a high risk to get overdone quickly. Steaming it, then adding to the softened onions is the perfect answer for this. Thanks.

Steamed Yellow Squash With Vidalia Onions,I hesitated to post this recipe because it is so simple. But I didn’t see anything like it on recipezaar, so here it is. It uses up things that are often in abundance in the garden, and is really simple and quick…bringing out the best flavors of the vegetables.,For more years than I can count, I’ve made this but cooked the squash in the pan with the onion. It is at a high risk to get overdone quickly. Steaming it, then adding to the softened onions is the perfect answer for this. Thanks.,So easy to make and so delicious! Simple, but lots of flavor — made a great side dish to our dinner tonight. Will definitely make this again as squash is abundant this time of year. Made for Zaars Stars, May, 2013.
