Senn High School Chicago Butter Cookies, This is the actual recipe used in the Chicago public schools, my Mom was the manager in the cafeteria for many years This recipe was also published in a Chicago newspaper as one of the favorites The cookie has a wonderful butter flavor and very delicate texture Have one with a little carton of milk and you will feel young again Enjoy!, used to bake these when I was in high school they taste pretty darn close to that recipe but not as light , with a little tweaking I’m sure it’ll be perfect Everyone in the house loved them I’ve made them twice the second time used Bread flour and Organic Cane Sugar still good my husband said they were really buttery and good , Okay so, I followed the instructions thoroughly I didn’t take anything from them or add anything extra And these cookies taste NOTHING like the butter cookies I remember, they came out tasting more like sugar cookies than butter cookies
