Shata (African Spice), Shata is a hot spice accompaniment, it comes from Sudan Posted for the ZWT2, WOW!! If you like heat, and I DO, this is for you!! I didn’t use it as a meat marinade though as I didn’t have any in the house I would love to try it with all meats Here is what I did use it for though, , , , , , , , , , I added 2T to 4T olive oil and 2T mandarin orange juice from a can of oranges and added it with the remaining oranges to a dark green and red onion salad Mmmm mmmm good! I also added 3T to a pot of lentil soup I was making in the last 30 minutes of cooking time I think this can be a multi tasking ingredient in a whole host of dishes and/or served on the side with a tiny spoon; be creative! Wonderful Katie and thank you so much for sharing!, This was very good but for us I only used about half of the red pepper flakes DH grilled chicken breast, had crusty bread to eat with the chicken and dip in the spice blend Thank you Katie!
