    Simple Apple Crisp,I found this scribbled inside a book dated 1916 in my grandma’s attic. It’s still a bomb dessert after all these years.,hor u make the toping,Had some organic pink lady apples that were not very sweet, but didn’t want to throw them out. I had all of the ingredients to make this, but slicing up a lemon for one teaspoon of juice seems like a waste. I had some lemonade on hand and just subbed 1/2 cup of lemonade for the water/lemon juice. Worked perfectly. I also used an onion chopper to dice up the unpeeled apples and I loved how that worked so fast and easy.

    Pre-Heat Oven to 350.

    Placed Sliced Apples in Buttered 8x8 Pan.

    Add Spices, Lemon Juice and Water.

    in Separate Bowl, Mix Butter, Sugar and Flour Until Crumbly; Sprinkle on Top of Apples.

    Bake For 1 Hour or Until Top Is Golden Brown and Apples Are Tender.
