    I believe I like this better than pumpkin pie!! I added the following tweaks: reduced sugar to 1/2 cup and used packed brown sugar instead of white; kicked up the spices to 1 t. of pumpkin pie spice and 2 t. of cinnamon. II cut the cold sticks of butter into pieces and placed on the top of the cake batter. I find this method works better than melting the butter first. This is a great recipe for beginner bakers.
