Slow Cooker Maple Berry Oatmeal, From Woman’s Day 5/07 Want to try this one Would be good for a brunch if you’ve got overnight guests – this cooks for 8 hours on low , Since my husband doesn’t care for oatmeal, I halved the recipe used the dried blueberries, omitted the cranberries and maple syrup because of preference Instead when ready to eat, I added a bit of butter, milk and Splenda to sweeten and it was fantastic I found Quaker brand Steel Cut Oats for the first time and it was wonderful I kept the leftovers airtight in the refrigerator and they were wonderful even the next day I added about 2 to 4 tablespoons of milk before heating as well as a bit of butter and Splenda again and couldn’t tell the difference from the first day Thank you for posting this It’s a nice treat for a Sunday morning :), So nice to wake up to a hot cooked breakfast The texture/consistency was just right after 6 hours in my slow cooker Did stick a little to the sides of the cooker Spraying with cooking spray at the onset may help eliminate that The maple syrup added the right amount of sweetness My family and I enjoyed this–thanks for sharing
