Slow Cooker Split Pea and Ham Soup, Easy and delicious! Very thick and hearty! Freezes well! (I always make a double batch and freeze 2/3 ) Update: If you overcook, the soup will get even thicker than usual! and turn a little bit of an olive drab color–it will still taste good though!, This recipe has been my go to split pea soup recipe for years I have updated it to work in an instant pot Saut the veggies in a bit of oil & cook until translucent, add the garlic & stir until fragrant, add the parsley and spices & stir add the ham, water or stock and the peas Pressure cook for 15 minutes followed by a natural release , This was delicious and comforting I found that the water evaporated completely, so I had to add more before eating the soup It was packed with flavour! I’d make it again for sure
