Texas Toast Breakfast Casserole, This is our special occasion recipe – we use it for Thanksgiving and Christmas morning as it is easy to prepare the night before, my daughter is having her in-laws over this week and requested it for them So maybe it is impress the MIL too 🙂 there are many variations of this recipe this one seems to work best for us , I added some diced tomatoes, onions and corn to my eggs and I topped the cheese with a cracker crust (melt 4tbsp butter and crush crackers in) The texture of the soft bread and crust was really good This casserole is so filling and yummy!, Had a couple of overnight guests & the 4 of us easily consumed over 3/4 of this very nice tasting casserole without any problem at all! used a mild Italian sausage, a not-so-mild cheddar & homemade nutty whole wheat breat in this very easy, no-fuss breakfast! Not the healthiest of meals, but it certainly was enjoyable! [Made & reviewed in New Kids on the Block tag]
