I followed another reviewer suggestion and used 1 1/4 cups water and a little squeeze of lemon. I wish my strawberries had been more ripe, a little less firm and more flavorful, but they were just about there. I’m looking forward to making this again in the summer and making 1 1/2 or maybe even double the filling so it makes an enormous mound of filling. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
