Rehydrated Onions, Mcdonalds

Features:
    Cuisine:

Mom always had these growing up. I was/am a hamburger fanatic and regularly use these. We didn't have microwaves in the 60's/70's though but hot water works just fine. Mom showed me this process around 8 yrs old and have enjoyed them since. Fyi: 1/8th cup = 2 Tablespoons, hence the mixture could state: "1 part onion to 2 parts water". Just saying and trying to simplify.

Rehydrated Onions, Mcdonald’s Style,I worked at McDonald’s many years ago. This is the way that they made the onions for the burgers. I did this to go with Recipe #106882. I’m guessing at the yield but you can get enough for 4-5 burgers depending on how much you like funky onions.,Mom always had these growing up. I was/am a hamburger fanatic and regularly use these. I don’t eat meat, so I put them on veggie and/or bean burgers and soy hotdogs. Absolutely heavenly! And so affordable to dress up a meal!

Put Onion and Water in a Small Microwave Proof Bowl. Heat For 30 Seconds on Medium. Let Sit 15 Minutes or Until the Water Has Been Absorbed. If the Onions Still Seem Wet You Can Press Out the Extra Water With the Back of a Spoon. Spread Onion on Top Half of Your Hamburger Bun.
