Biscuits And Gravy

Features:
    Cuisine:

This is outstanding and just how biscuits and gravy are supposed to turn out. used 1 lb of sausage instead of 1/2 lb but otherwise perfect. Surprisingly few B&G recipes instruct you to remove the sausage from the pan before adding the flour. This one does. If you don't remove the sausage you can't properly form the roux, the flour clumps onto the meat leaving unconstituted dry flour covering the meat chunks. Unfortunately any hack can post a recipe on here and most of the biscuits and gravy recipes on here don't address this properly. This isn't the flashiest recipe to find and unfortunately had to wade through a bunch of hacks before finding this one. It turned out perfectly.

Biscuits and Gravy, I serve this every year for Christmas brunch, Easy and good After I make it I put it in the crockpot on low on the buffet and its always a big hit I usually double the recipe ( I sometimes double the recipe and still use only 1/2 lb sausage) , This is outstanding and just how biscuits and gravy are supposed to turn out used 1 lb of sausage instead of 1/2 lb but otherwise perfect Surprisingly few B&G recipes instruct you to remove the sausage from the pan before adding the flour This one does If you don’t remove the sausage you can’t properly form the roux, the flour clumps onto the meat leaving unconstituted dry flour covering the meat chunks Unfortunately any hack can post a recipe on here and most of the biscuits and gravy recipes on here don’t address this properly This isn’t the flashiest recipe to find and unfortunately had to wade through a bunch of hacks before finding this one It turned out perfectly , Served with a couple of eggs scrambled We have been raving all day about this great meal I am sure if one is ambitious enough homemade biscuits would make it better, however the convenience and the time saved by using refrigerated biscuits should not be overlooked as the gravy is what makes this recipe one of the winner
