Crock Pot Bbq Smothered Chicken

Features:
    Cuisine:

I decided to make this one night when my parents were over for dinner. I cooked 3lbs of chicken breast and poured out the juices and fat. I left some water, maybe about a cup, in the bottom of the crockpot. I made 1 1/2 the sauce and the consistency, with the little water left in the pot, was very good. I had to substitute some Lea and Perrins for the Heinz 57. I thought the dish had a good taste but my family was not as keen. They felt it was too tangy. I'd like to make this again but I was wondering if you had any suggestions for how to tone down the tangyness - just a little. I did make a 'pulled' chicken type of sandwich with the leftovers - pretty good! Thanks.

Crock Pot BBQ Smothered Chicken, I love my crock pot It sure makes life easier for me since I started using it I just wish I had started when I got it It was a gift from my daughter and her hubby and I let it sit in my pantry for 5 or 6 years before I ever tried to cook in it because I figured I didn’t know how to use it But it is so easy and so convenient If you have one sitting around, USE IT! You will love it , I decided to make this one night when my parents were over for dinner I cooked 3lbs of chicken breast and poured out the juices and fat I left some water, maybe about a cup, in the bottom of the crockpot I made 1 1/2 the sauce and the consistency, with the little water left in the pot, was very good I had to substitute some Lea and Perrins for the Heinz 57 I thought the dish had a good taste but my family was not as keen They felt it was too tangy I’d like to make this again but I was wondering if you had any suggestions for how to tone down the tangyness – just a little I did make a ‘pulled’ chicken type of sandwich with the leftovers – pretty good! Thanks , Not bad! I drained the water and juices before adding the sauce It could have used more sauce though, because as stated it soaked it all up The problem I had was that used a whole chicken and when it was time to serve I had great pains to find all the bones that hid in all the meat Nice sauce, next time I’ll double it
