Glorias Refried Beans

Features:
    Cuisine:

I grew up in SoCal. I have had my share of good restaurant refried beans. I have been looking for a recipe that would keep the kids from requesting a night out at the tacqueria...this was it. Thank you so much for sharing. My kids had thirds and this will be on our food rotation. Nothing like a fantastic recipe that is healthy I render my own lard from grass fed farm, cheap and the kids love.

Gloria’s Refried Beans, My friend Gloria is from mexico and makes refried beans just like you get in a good Mexican restaurant. I begged her for the recipe, and I’ll share it with you. Cook time includes 2 hr. soaking time., I grew up in SoCal. I have had my share of good restaurant refried beans. I have been looking for a recipe that would keep the kids from requesting a night out at the tacqueria…this was it. Thank you so much for sharing. My kids had thirds and this will be on our food rotation. Nothing like a fantastic recipe that is healthy I render my own lard from grass fed farm, cheap and the kids love., Very good refried beans! I skipped the bacon fat, since I’m watching my calories, but this was still a great dish. I left the mixture very chunky, as I like to have some whole beans in the mix. I just crushed enough beans to thicken the mix, and got the same taste and texture that I get at my local Mexican place. Next time I’d add some cumin and tabasco if I was serving as a side dish, but as part of a filling for burritos, it was perfect as is. Thanks for posting!
