Ground Beef And Cabbage Casserole

Features:
    Cuisine:

This is a great base recipe. Take your best stuffed cabbage roll recipe and season this as you would do with that. Cook the meat and tomato mixture so that it's quite dry when you're done with it. The reason being is that the cabbage will release moisture into the casserole so you want to start off with a fairly dry meat and tomato mixture. tasty meat mixture before you start assembling the casserole because that will give you an idea as to how the overall casserole will taste. I had to cook mine about 20 minutes more to get to the doneness that I prefer. This might be due simply to differences in ovens. Again, great recipe to start with and tweak it to make it your own.

Ground Beef and Cabbage Casserole, This is a simple, delicious casserole to put together I have made this using ground beef and tomato sauce, or with a seasoned ground pork sausage and along with a traditional style spaghetti sauce No matter how it’s made, both taste great! The seasoned pork sausage used, already had salt, course cracked pepper, dried sage, onion and fresh garlic added to it Have also made this using a lb of leftover (already-cooked) taco seasoned meat, which gave this dish lots of flavor , This is a great base recipe Take your best stuffed cabbage roll recipe and season this as you would do with that Cook the meat and tomato mixture so that it’s quite dry when you’re done with it The reason being is that the cabbage will release moisture into the casserole so you want to start off with a fairly dry meat and tomato mixture tasty meat mixture before you start assembling the casserole because that will give you an idea as to how the overall casserole will taste I had to cook mine about 20 minutes more to get to the doneness that I prefer This might be due simply to differences in ovens Again, great recipe to start with and tweak it to make it your own , This was very good, and I will definitely fix it again sometime I doubled the recipe and served it over organic brown rice
