Guava Bars

Features:
    Cuisine:

Turned out real tasty! Had a can of guava paste that was purchased by my spouse for the can itself. So needed to use the guava paste. The crust mixture really seemed odd to me (not that I have much experience) because it was so dry. Worked fine, but I did end up baking it much longer to get it to brown. used a glass pan and parchment paper liner. Perhaps a metal pan or foil liner would have gone faster.

Guava Bars,I made these in response to a request from a Colombian coworker for “something guava”. Guava paste can usually be found in the international aisle of well-stocked grocery stores. You may find it in a wrapped bar as opposed to a large flat tin; I find that the canned product is better-tasting and more attractively colored than the stuff in the bar, but use what you can find.,Turned out real tasty! Found this recipe and went back for another couple of packages. Very good!
