I had such high hopes for this recipe, but unfortunately I did not care for the final result. It had a definite powdered milk taste to it that I did not care for. I've never used powdered milk before, but I had some and was out of sweetened condensed milk, so I figured I would give this recipe a try. My powdered milk was in date and does not expire for 3 months. It had a definite smell to it. Not a sour smell like it had gone bad, it is probably just what powdered milk smells like, and I am unfamiliar with that smell/taste because I do not use it. I tried making this with a recipe for Iced Coffee that I make often (113064). It definitely looked like sweetened condensed milk, and the coffee looked like it normally looks, but I could still taste the powdered milk. I would say if you don't mind that particular flavor this recipe will probably work for you. Unfortunately I will not be making it again.

Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk, I love this recipe because it’s simple and easy and it costs only pennies to make compared to buying it in the store I make all my Christmas candy with this that calls for sweetened condensed milk

I also used fresh peaches and almond milk! I love that this works with just about any fruit.
