Slow Cooked Kielbasa And Cheese

Features:
    Cuisine:

After combining everything in the crockpot the mixture was dry. I could not imagine how hard/dry it would be after cooking 8 hours, so I added 1/2 cup of Half & Half. The noodles absorbed the liquid immediately. I then added a can of cream of celery soup (that was all I had on hand) and can full of milk. The mixture still seemed too dry to cook for such a long time. I had someone go to the house at noontime and turn the crockpot off after only 3 1/2 hours. It was a bit overcooked anyway but the onions and carrots were still sort of raw. The flavor was a bit bland but it tasted better with some hot sauce. Perhaps a stronger flavor of cheese would have worked better than the mozzarella used. If I make this again I will cook the noodles at the last minute and use chicken or vegetable broth instead.
